Position Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Nonprofit Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide strategic insight, advisory support, and thought leadership across projects that empower mission-driven organizations. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in nonprofit operations, compliance, technology, or governance and serve as a trusted resource for both internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert on nonprofit industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Provide strategic consulting services to clients in areas such as operations, compliance, technology, impact measurement, or organizational development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions aligned with clients’ missions.
• Lead or contribute to assessments, audits, and planning sessions to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
• Produce high-quality deliverables including whitepapers, reports, frameworks, and presentations.
• Monitor sector trends and policy changes to ensure recommendations are relevant and current.
• Support proposal development and participate in client engagement activities as needed.
• Deliver training sessions or workshops for client staff and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in nonprofit management, public administration, social impact, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience working in or consulting with nonprofit organizations.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas: nonprofit operations, strategic planning, fundraising, program evaluation, compliance, or IT governance.
• Strong professional relationships with nonprofit or purpose-driven organizations, with a proven ability to engage, advise, and support their unique missions.
• Strong analytical, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
• Commitment to advancing social good through scalable, mission-aligned solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with grant-funded organizations, government reporting requirements, or nonprofit financials.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce for Nonprofits, Microsoft 365, or similar solutions.
• Experience working with underserved communities or equity-focused missions.
